A Few Terms, Explained.

What is Wi-Fi offload? +
Wi-Fi offload is the process of routing a subscriber's data traffic over Wi-Fi networks instead of the cellular macro network. Carriers use offload to relieve congestion, cut costs, and improve indoor experience — the Sherwood Network makes it available to any carrier, anywhere.
What is Passpoint? +
Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) is the industry standard that lets devices connect to Wi-Fi networks automatically and securely — the same way they roam onto cellular towers. No captive portals, no passwords. Sherwood's Wi-Fi Toolkit and WOX build on Passpoint end to end.
What is an MVNO / MVNE? +
An MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) is a carrier brand that sells service on top of another operator's network. An MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler) supplies the platform behind it — subscriber management, billing, provisioning, compliance. SherwoodOS's Carrier Enablement Platform is that stack, packaged and paired with native Sherwood Network integration.
How does the Robinhood Chain fit in? +
Every data session on the Sherwood Network is metered, verified, and settled on the Robinhood Chain. SHW tokens are burned as data credits are consumed, and deployers are paid for the traffic they carry. SherwoodOS gives operators full visibility into that settlement layer.
Can I use SherwoodOS without the Sherwood Network? +
Yes. SherwoodOS modules — subscriber management, billing, analytics, and Wi-Fi tooling — run against any network. But the platform is designed around the Sherwood Network, and pairing both gives you the full cost and coverage advantage.
